Director Of Bands
Zach Woolhouse has been the director of bands at Forte JH and Hoover ES since 2024. Prior to coming to Azle ISD, he spent 9 years at Hillwood Middle School in Keller ISD. He studied at the University of Houston, where he studied music education and saxophone performance, serving as a member of the nationally competitive Seraphim Saxophone Quartet, the Moores School of Music Jazz Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and was a section leader and drum major in the Spirit of Houston marching band. In the summer of 2023, he completed his master's degree in music education from Southern Methodist University.​His professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi, Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), Texas Music Educator's Association (TMEA), the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA), and is the owner/director of The Young Saxophonist's Institute, a summer camp for middle and high school saxophonists. He has most recently shared his knowledge of beginning saxophone pedagogy and practices at the NASA biennial conference in 2020 and the TMEA convention in 2022. ​Mr. Woolhouse grew up in North Richland Hills, TX, and graduated from Richland High School. He and his wife, also an Azle ISD music teacher, reside in Fort Worth, TX and have two boys, Henry and Daniel.
